Beanie Weenies



Beanie Weenies, a favorite food in college dorms, makes a great meal and is an excellent lunch for work or school. It's quite easy to make, as well.



Beanie Weenies

1-28 oz. can of baked beans, any flavor
4 franks, cut into bite-sized pieces
1/3 cup of brown sugar
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 slice thick-cut bacon, diced
1/2 sweet onion, diced

Brown the bacon over medium heat until mostly done, then add the diced onion and cook a couple of minutes until the onion begins to be translucent. Add the remaining ingredients, stir, cover, and put into a 350°F oven for 2 hours or so. If you have a slow cooker, brown the bacon and add the onion, then transfer to the slow cooker and add everything. In a hurry? Just cook it on the stovetop until it's nice and hot all the way through.

Some Buttermilk Cornbread would go nicely with this, don't you think?
